IN THE HEART
OF TRADITION
In the beautiful village of Cabeção, a few kilometres from Mora, in the Alentejo, you will discover Encosta do Pinhal, set against a magnificent pine forest. The Alentejo, Portugal's largest region, is made up of endless farmland, hills planted with cork oaks, almond and olive trees.
Here, the Mediterranean climate is hot and dry, with a strong continental influence, and the soils, granitic, calcareous or schistose, offer great diversity. Since the Romans, the Alentejo has been the privileged setting of a land rich in tradition, where quality wines are produced that are as singular and varied as its landscapes and gastronomy.
In addition to the increasingly successful Vinho Alentejano, the Alentejo offers DOC (Denominacão de Origem Controlada) wines from 8 sub-regions: Portalegre, Borba, Redondo, Reguengos, Vidigueira, Évora, Granja/Amareleja and Moura.
